# Argos, Currys and Smyths Black Friday sales have started

Argos, Currys and Smyths started their Black Friday 2026 sales early, weeks before 27 November. The start dates, the price guarantees, and what to check first.

Three big UK retailers started their Black Friday 2026 sales weeks before the day itself. Black Friday is Friday 27 November, and Cyber Monday is Monday 30 November. Our [Black Friday 2026 guide](/blog/black-friday-2026-uk) covers every UK sale date we know.

## What happened

MoneySavingExpert reports these start dates. None of the three retailers has published its own press release yet.

- **Currys started on Wednesday 28 October.** The sale runs to Tuesday 1 December. Buy a marked deal between 28 October and 24 November, and if the price drops by 1 December you can claim the difference. You must register by 27 November. See [Currys Black Friday 2026](/blog/currys-black-friday-2026-uk).
- **Argos started on Friday 30 October** with more than 1,800 items. Argos says marked items will not get cheaper at Argos before Friday 25 December. See [Argos Black Friday 2026](/blog/argos-black-friday-2026-uk).
- **Smyths started on Tuesday 3 November**, earlier than expected. See [Smyths Black Friday 2026](/blog/smyths-black-friday-2026-uk).

## What it means if you buy now

An early start does not mean the lowest price. A price guarantee is the safe way to buy early: if the price falls later, you get the difference back. Check an item's price history before you buy, and read [how price errors and real deals differ](/blog/price-errors-uk).
