# Does TK Maxx do Black Friday? What to expect in 2026

Does TK Maxx do Black Friday? Its own site says it generally runs no sales, but it ran November events in past years. See the dates, pricing and clearance.

TK Maxx does not run a Black Friday sale in the usual way. On its own "How we do it" page it says it generally does not do promotions or sales, only low prices every day. It has run November events in the past, though. TK Maxx has not announced 2026 Black Friday offers as of 6 November 2026. Black Friday is Friday 27 November.

## What does TK Maxx say about Black Friday?

TK Maxx says its pricing is the same all year. Its [How we do it page](https://www.tkmaxx.com/uk/en/how-we-do-it), read from an archived copy of 14 February 2026, says: "Unlike traditional retailers, we generally don't do promotions, sales or other gimmicks."

The page also says TK Maxx is an off-price retailer. It sells brand and designer goods at "up to 60% less than the RRP". It says it gets each RRP from the brand owner or supplier, who must give evidence of it. The saving is against the RRP, not against last week's TK Maxx price.

So there is no single Black Friday discount to wait for. The price on the ticket is the price.

## TK Maxx November events in past years

TK Maxx has marketed a Black Friday theme in some years, mostly with new stock and flash events, not site-wide cuts. The table shows what press coverage confirms.

| Year | What was reported | Source |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 2018 | Month-long event from 1 November, with flash events online and in store | The Upcoming, 26 October 2018 |
| 2019 | Weekly flash sales from 20 October, leading up to Black Friday | SurreyLive, October 2019 |
| 2024 | No TK Maxx statement confirmed | none |
| 2025 | No TK Maxx statement confirmed | none |
| 2026 | Not announced as of 6 November 2026 | none |

In 2018 TK Maxx's group brand and marketing director said the company does Black Friday "365 days a year", and that from 1 November 2018 it would ramp up its offer. See [The Upcoming's report](https://www.theupcoming.co.uk/2018/10/26/tk-maxx-announces-month-long-extravaganza). The 2019 weekly themes were listed in [SurreyLive's report](https://www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/uk-world-news/tk-maxx-reveal-five-huge-17087410).

Voucher sites describe larger 2025 offers. TK Maxx has not confirmed those claims, so treat them with care.

## TK Maxx pricing and clearance

Real savings at TK Maxx come from markdowns on ageing stock. Stock that does not sell is reduced. Press reports quoting former staff say items drop in price roughly every six weeks until final clearance, and that final clearance runs twice a year. TK Maxx does not publish a markdown calendar, and no outlet has confirmed 2026 dates.

Our [TK Maxx clearance guide](/blog/tk-maxx-clearance-uk) covers how these markdowns work, plus returns terms. A staff post quoted in regional press names Tuesday to Thursday mornings as the best time to shop. That is one person's view, not a TK Maxx statement.

## Best days to shop at TK Maxx

No official best day exists. The only timing advice on record is the staff post above. A sound approach is to check the clearance rail first, read the lowest price on the ticket, then compare the item with other shops. Our [price matching guide](/blog/uk-shops-that-price-match) lists shops that match a lower price.

## Checking a Black Friday bargain

Which? has found that most Black Friday deals are matched or beaten at other times of the year. The same logic applies to any "up to" claim at any shop. Our [Black Friday 2026 guide](/blog/black-friday-2026-uk) explains price history, "was" prices and your returns rights.

If you resell, an off-price tag does not equal profit. Check sold listings and fees first. Our [retail arbitrage guide](/blog/retail-arbitrage-uk) shows how. [SAVR](/savr/) sends UK discount and price error alerts if you want a message when a price falls.
